A few years back we created our exterior barn doors from reclaimed lumber for our barn so we decided to make this one of our new diy projects and create the interior doors on our own as well and we couldn t be happier with the results.
If needed you can substitute 1x10 t g boards for 1x8 1x12 or even 2x6 or 2x8 boards.

The simplest way to build a door is to use 1x10 t g barn siding for the door and regular straight edge 1x10 barn siding for trims and cross bucks.
Set the miter saw to 45 degrees and cut one end off each pallet board.
Starting at the top rail butt the mitered ends of two pieces of similar thickness and color together at the centerline.
To start we ll rip each 2 x 6 on the table saw to ensure each is exactly 5 5 wide.
Make sure to get t g boards for the door itself and regular boards for all of the trims.
Cut the chevrons use a straightedge to mark a centerline down the door s two inset panels.
